MEMBERSHIP






The following are qualified for TELESCOOP membership:

1. A prospective member must be a Filipino citizen and at least eighteen (18) years old and not more than forty five (45) years old and must be:


a. A regular employee of PLDT Inc.


b. A regular employee of the cooperatives organized and owned by employees of PLDT Inc.


c. A regular employee of PLDT Subsidiaries and Affiliates and companies owned and controlled by PLDT Inc.


d. A regular employee of companies within PLDT premises and that PLDT Inc. owns at least 40% of the Capital Stock of such companies.


2. Immediate members of the family and dependents of regular members which are categorized as follows:



If a regular member is married:

I.Husband or Wife who is not more than fifty (50) years old.


II. Dependent children who are single and at least 18 years old and not more than 21 years old.


If a regular member is unmarried or single:

I.Father or Mother who is not more than 50 years old.


3. An applicant for TELESCOOP membership must attend a cost-free Pre-Membership Seminar conducted by the TELESCOOP EDCOM.


4. An applicant for TELESCOOP membership shall file an application for membership for acceptance or denial by the Board of Directors within thirty (30) days from date of filing. The approval of new membership is normally done during Regular Board Meeting scheduled during the last Thursday of the month. An approved applicant for TELESCOOP membership has duties and responsibilities as well as rights and privileges, Among other duties and responsibilities, an approved applicant must pay membership fees, and other dues through payroll deduction or over-the-counter payment.






A regular TELESCOOP member shall have the following duties, responsibilities and obligations:

1. Patronize regularly the TELESCOOP products and services.


2. Pay his obligations and participate in the TELESCOOP capital build-up and savings mobilization.


3. Attend and participate in the deliberation during Representative Assembly meetings as a representative or Proponent of resolutions or amendments.


4. Participate in membership education programs.


5. Observe and obey all lawful orders, decisions, rules and regulations adopted by the Board of Directors and Representative Assembly.


6. Promote the goals and objectives of TELESCOOP, the success of its business, the welfare of its members and the cooperative movement in general.






A regular “member in good standing” shall have the following rights:

1. Participate and vote during Representative Assembly meetings as a Representative.


2. Seek any elective or appointive position subject to limitations imposed by the TELESCOOP By-Laws or RA 9520.


3. Avail himself of the products and services of TELESCOOP.


4. Receive interest on his savings deposits and patronage refund commensurate with his patronage or availment of loans.


5. Inspect and examine the TELESCOOP books of accounts, minutes books, share capital register and other records during office hours.


6. Exercise such other rights and privileges as may be provided by the Representative Assembly.






A regular “member in good standing” is one who:

1. Has paid the membership fee of ₱ 100.00 and the value of at least ten(10) common shares or ₱ 100.00.


2. Is not delinquent in the payment of his share capital subscriptions, obligations and other accounts payable to TELESCOOP.


3. Has not violated any provision of the TELESCOOP By-Laws, the terms and conditions of the subscription agreement and the decisions, guidelines, rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Directors and the Representative Assembly.


4. Is not a former or incumbent Officer of an entity engaged in a business similar to the business of TELESCOOP.






WHEN DOES TELESCOOP MEMBERSHIP END OR TERMINATE

I. Active Payroll Members


Regular membership in TELESCOOP is co-terminus with the employment service of a member. In order that a member may be entitled to retirement benefits, he must have completed five (5) years continuous membership and must be both separated from employment service and membership with TELESCOOP.

II. Non-Payroll Members


Regular membership with TELESCOOP for Non-Payroll Members is terminated by death or voluntary resignation.

1. Upon the death, insanity and permanent incapacity or judicial declaration by a competent court of the insolvency of a member (Automatic Termination).


2. Upon resignation or withdrawal of his membership subject to a 60-day prior written notice to the Board of Directors (Voluntary Termination).


3. Upon a majority vote of the Board of Directors terminating the membership of a member for committing any of the following (Involuntary Termination):



a. Not patronizing the products, services and businesses of TELESCOOP for more than 12 months.


b. Fails and continuously fails to comply with his obligations.


c. Violating any provision of the By-Laws and rules of TELESCOOP.


d. Any act or omission injurious or prejudicial to the interest or welfare of TELESCOOP.
